The Do It Project aims to translates the guidelines for PCOS, POI and unexplained infertility into practical tools for use in clinical care by enhancing the MCHRI digital health apps with features to support shared decision-making. This project is being led by Professor Lisa Moran and funded by a MRFF Critical Infrastructure Grant.
Previously, together with key stakeholders, we identified priority topics for PCOS, POI and unexplained infertility. We have now finalised the content for the prototype decision aids and software development are now underway. Preparations to trial these decision aids in the PCOS clinic at Monash Health is in progress. In parallel, our team are also investigating the potential and value of AI-based features for consumers, which will be integrated into the decision aids in future.
We have also updated the Monash University PCOS short course (Understanding the 2023 international evidence-based guideline for the assessment and management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)) to reflect the 2023 guidelines. The course is aimed at healthcare professionals and researchers who would like a better understanding on the diagnosis, management and treatment of PCOS in line with the latest guidelines.
In other exciting news, we would like to congratulate Professor Moran for being awarded a NHMRC Investigator Grant. The $2.8 million grant will build upon the work done in the Do It project and focus on heart disease prevention in high-risk women, including those with PCOS and infertility. Read more about it here.
