Celebrating Endocrine Excellence

MCHRI is thrilled to celebrate this incredible achievement — two team members have received prestigious career awards for their dedication and impact in improving women’s health worldwide.

Congratulations to Dr Jillian Tay and Prof Helena Teede, for each receiving an Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA) Excellence Award.

Dr Jillian Tay, Research Fellow at MCHRI and an Endocrinologist at Monash Health, received the ESA Early Career Plenary Award, which recognises an outstanding early-career clinical researcher in Endocrinology.

Dr Tay led a global network of early and mid career researchers who played a critical role in the evidence synthesis of the 2023 International PCOS Guideline. Together with her clinical role at Monash Health, Dr Tay is contributing to the Do It Project which is translating the guidelines for PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and unexplained infertility into practical digital tools for use in clinical care to support shared decision making.

Prof Helena Teede AM, Director of MCHRI, Chief Investigator of the NHMRC funded Centre of Research Excellence in Women’s Health in Reproductive Life and Endocrinologist at Monash Health is the 2025 Senior Plenary Awardee.

The award recognises Prof Teede’s outstanding research career in the field of Endocrinology in Australia — an achievement that she acknowledges also reflects the fantastic strength of the MCHRI team, whose collaborative efforts have shaped a research program improving women’s health outcomes.

Prof Teede, who presented the Plenary Lecture at the Annual Scientific Meeting on October 20, has a 30 year research career and is internationally recognised for her contributions to research, policy development, and advocacy that are improving health outcomes for women.  More recently, she led the 2018 and 2023 International PCOS Guidelines, and also significantly contributed to the POI and unexplained infertility Guidelines.  The 2023 International PCOS Guideline Program (including the Ask PCOS App with 107K users) has been viewed over 1 million times.
